CRISTINA SALAS AND MANUEL AGUILAR

CRISTINA SALAS AND MANUEL AGUILAR. The Vineyard Route.

Cristina and Manuel undertook the path to their trade together when they arrived very young to live with Don Filomeno, an experienced chacolicero and Manuel's grandfather. In the fourteen years that they were sharing their home, they learned the importance of caring for the vines, waking up at dawn to take care of them, and the love of their trade, in short, all the secrets of the good chacolicero. Cristina also learned from her father, a producer of wines and spirits; as well as from her own experience as a seasonal worker. Now Cristina is the vice president of the Chacoliceros Association; She is a strong, creative woman who has known how to preserve the traditions of the Chilean countryside. This couple develops as true ambassadors of the Huasa and peasant culture of Doñihua. You can visit them at home to taste and purchase their wide range of products.
